- There IS air conditioning in the rooms (due to the large number of football campers, we may need to use non air conditioned rooms for this camp only)
- There are NO phones in the rooms, there is a pay phone by the counselor desk (main lobby in Hillcrest) that the campers are welcome to use,
make sure to send change or a phone card
- There are NO refrigerators in the rooms
- We DO NOT provide ice
- Bedding is provided
- We DO NOT provide towels
- There are no TV’s in the rooms, TV is available in the lounge for campers to view
- The dorm room contains: 2 lofted beds, 2 desks, 2 chairs, a dresser and, a sink
- Showers are down the hall (bring flip flops and a cover up)
- Laundry cards* are available at the front desk for an initial cost of $1.00. Cost is $1.00 to wash or dry. You must provide your own detergent. Detergent vending machines are located in the laundry rooms *Laundry card fees are included in the Wrestlings Intensive Training Camp fee.
- ATM is available in the Hillcrest lounge area, near the vending machines
- 2 campers in a room – NO EXCEPTIONS
- Campers’ who request each other on their application, two weeks prior to camp, will automatically be paired together in our computer system. If both campers do not make the request, we can not guarantee they will be roomed together.
- Under no circumstances are we allowed to give out other campers roommate preferences over the phone. We can only tell you who your child requested.
- Roommate requests received less than two weeks before camp start date, may not be possible.
- We need the medical release of liability form or a school physical signed by a doctor within the last year that says your child is
cleared tp participate in sports. In either instance, we still need a parents’ signature on the release of liability form.
- If you mail your medical release form to the Sports Camps office ahead of time, you will have one less step at check-in!
- University of Iowa coaches, student-athletics, and other college and high school coaches run practices. Whenever the camper is not practicing they will be
among counselors (walking, eating, sleeping, etc.). Counselors stay in the dorms with the campers. Campers are supervised at ALL times.
- Resident: This refers to sleeping arrangements during camp, NOT your home address. It means that you will stay overnight and sleep in our dorms.
- Commuter: This camper will attend all instruction sessions, leave at night and sleep in his own home or somewhere they have made alternate sleeping arrangements.
- Family members are encouraged to attend ANY session and for approximately $8, are welcome to eat with the campers at Hillcrest Dining Hall
- If you take a camper out of camp, you MUST stop at the Counselor Desk to sign them out and sign them back in so we know where they are at all times. The camper must also notify their coach that they will be absent
- Counselors live as residents on every floor while Sports Camps are in session
